WRITE, CREATE, DIRECT, AND PERFORM!

In this half-day camp for younger elementary school students, kids can do it all - write, create, direct, and perform a story on the small stage using our theater in a box!

We will begin by exploring the important parts of a story, like conflict, plot, and setting.  The group then will dive into how plays work by using dialogue and stage directions to provide a map to the work of the play. Next, students will prepare scripts and create puppet characters using provided materials.

Participants receive a special box to serve as their "stage."  They then will stage their play and debut their work at an end-of-camp sharing.

Each day, we will sprinkle in theater and character exploration activities designed to stimulate creativity, in addition to the building of students' stories and staging of the plays.  Students are welcome to continue developing their projects outside of camp, but no outside work is required.  Supplies and time to create will be provided, along with a small mid-morning snack.
